Candidate for Wilton Town Justice

About the Candidate

According to Eric, he sees the position of Wilton Town Justice as a way to use his legal experience and education for the benefit of our community. Eric believes he is the best candidate for addressing the issues that will come before him as Town Justice in these challenging times, and in working to move our community into the future. He purchased a home and settled in Wilton in the Summer of 2016 after having first lived in Saratoga Springs when he moved from Florida in 2012.

Legal Experience

Eric has been a licensed attorney in the State of Florida since 1994 and is currently a member in good standing of The Florida Bar. He began his legal career with the international law firm of Greenberg, Traurig in Miami Florida; then opened his own law office in 1997, specializing in representing clients in residential and commercial real estate transactions. During that same period he also owned and operated a title company, providing closing and title insurance services for residential and commercial real estate transactions.

Other Professional Experience

Beginning his professional career as an accountant, Eric was licensed as a Florida Certified Public Accountant from 1980 to 2004. He spent the majority of his professional career prior to becoming an attorney in various aspects of the real estate industry, including accounting, brokerage and construction. Eric has had a Florida Real Estate Broker license since 1983 and was licensed as Florida Certified Residential Contractor from 1986 to 2004. He currently works as a dealer in antiques, collectibles and art.


Eric obtained his Juris Doctor, Magna Cum Laude, in 1994 from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad College of Law, located in Fort Lauderdale (Davie), Florida. He graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree, with an Area of Concentration in Accounting.

Personal Background

Born in New York, Eric’s parents moved their family to Florida in 1963. Other than going to college in St. Louis, Missouri, he lived in the Miami and Fort Lauderdale areas of Florida until settling in Upstate New York.

Eric has three grown children: twin daughters, Rebecca and Sarah, both of whom live Chicago. Rebecca is a special education teacher and Sarah provides therapy services for children with autism. His son, Leon, lives in Fort Lauderdale and is a doctor. Leon is currently doing an internship in pediatric emergency medicine.

Eric enjoys his hobby as a ceramic artist, creating sculptures and other works inspired by structures and architecture. He also enjoys many of the activities the region has to offer, including attending the classical season and other events at Saratoga Performing Arts Center, as well as day trips to explore other nearby communities, museums, and the Adirondacks. Eric volunteers at the Wilton Food Bank, has done other volunteer work throughout the community, and is a member of Saratoga Arts Center and the Corning Museum of Glass.
